SINGAPORE – Robot cleaners may soon be deployed across commercial buildings in Singapore to help lighten the workload of human cleaners.
Unveiled on Wednesday (July 4) at the JTC Cleantech One building within the Jurong Innovation District, the Scrub 50 is Singapore’s first fully autonomous cleaning robot. It was developed through a collaboration between property developer JTC, WIS Holdings, and Gaussian Robotics. Standing at 1.1 meters tall, the robot is intended to address the manpower shortage in the cleaning industry, which is increasingly challenged by an ageing workforce.
